Zaha Hadid / Liquid Glacial

Architect Zaha Hadid’s latest table series made of acrylic resembles whirlpools and is slick as an iceberg. The tables are on view at David Gill Galleries in London until May 30th.

Hadid’s website describes the design and fabrication of the table as follows
The Liquid Glacial design embeds surface complexity and refraction within a powerful fluid dynamic. The elementary geometry of the flat table top appears transformed from static to fluid by the subtle waves and ripples evident below the surface, while the tableโ€™s legs seem to pour from the horizontal in an intense vortex of water frozen in time.
