"The lotus is an auspicious symbol in Buddhist teaching which was my attraction to the imagery in the three panels which were taken from an eight panel folding screen. Since I recorded no info about the original - I’ll guess and say it’s 18th c Japan. The materials I used are powdered pigments, acrylic paint and mediums on heavy weight muslin. My technique employs a layering of transparent washes to create a luminous effect." - Scott
