Rebel Rebel Records Top 5

Spring is here and this weeks Rebel Rebel Top 5 features 3 fresh new voices and 2 80’s power groups latest!  Starting things off with the debut full length album from Daughter that we previewed with their EP a few weeks ago.  Featuring Elena Tonra’s perfectly pure vocals and guitar licks reminiscent of XX, they have a sound all their own.  Deptford Goth/Life After Defo is Daniel Woolhouse’s soulful electronica that packs an emotional punch!  Martin Gore and Dave Gahan are back making the best synth pop even if it’s dark and tinged with moody gospel influences on Depeche Mode’s comeback Delta Machine.  Olafur Arnald’s For Now I Am Winter is stunningly beautiful and his voice shimmering over piano requires multiple listening.  And finally OMD, one of our favorite 80’s bands update their sound on English Electric.  It’s upbeat and shiny and exactly what Spring is all about!
