Rebel Rebel Records Top 5

David Shebiro’s Rebel Rebel Top 5 this week is the best line up yet!  Rhye’s debut album is one of the smoothest things I’ve heard this year.  Mike Milosh has one of those gorgeous voices that feels instantly soothing and restrained but uncannily reminiscent of Sade.  Every music magazine has given the album a stellar review, listen for yourself.  Alice Smith’s last album was 7 years ago and was nominated for a Grammy in the best Urban/Alternative category and when you hear the soul in her voice weaving through musical genres you appreciate why it took so long.  “It’s rare for all the stars – vocals, production, instrumentation – to align so completely over an entire project, but Alice has managed to nail it on her sophomore release” says Soul Bounce.  The Wild Youth EP is a preview to their first full length album, If You Leave, out in the UK this week and April 30th in the US.  Twenty years into Low’s incredible career they produce a laid back 10th album that you want to play over and over when you’re hanging out with friends….just feels good.  And finally, Drowned in Sounds review of Suede’s sixth album “boomingly melodic, professionally polished and radiating rude health” is spot on and that’s why this is a killer week for new music!

Rhye / Woman

Alice Smith / She

Daughter / The Wild Youth EP

Low / The Invisible Way
